Community Service
Each year Mergent is pleased to become involved in organized programs run in the local community and also to support local needs. Mergent has been privileged to become involved in the following:
The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program
Created in 1987, the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program provides Christmas assistance for needy children. The recipients known as “Angels” range in age from infants to 17 years old. In the program, companies or individuals adopt an Angel and donate toys and clothing to them. Mergent has participated in this program for a number of years.
Sponsoring Philip O. Berry Academy Rugby Team
One of the newest rugby teams in the Charlotte-Mecklenberg Schools system aims to focus on character development, academic motivation, team work and leadership skills as well as winning games. This West Charlotte school team consists of 25 students some of whom come from at risk or low-income families. Mergent has been happy to offer support to this new school rugby team by purchasing their team uniforms.
In previous years Mergent employees have also been involved in annual events held in Charlotte including ‘Race for Cure’ and the ‘Crop Walk’.
