Jonathan Worrall – Chief Executive Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the financial information and software marketplace, Mr. Worrall possesses a wealth of knowledge in the industry. Mr. Worrall became Chief Executive Officer of Mergent in June 2002 after joining Mergent in early 2000 as Managing Director, International Operations. Mr. Worrall is also Chairman of Ford Equity Research. Prior to these positions, Mr. Worrall was the Managing Director, Investment Data Products for the Asia Pacific region for BARRA Inc. He has also held executive management positions at FAME, Randall Helms, Credit Suisse and Helix Technology Group where he focused on sales of financial data products and services. Mr. Worrall is co-author of the business books “Beating the S&P with Dividends” and of “From Wall Street to the Great Wall” published by John Wiley & Sons. Mr Worrall is an elected member of the Economic Development Board of York County, South Carolina.
Robert Andrialis – President
Mr. Andrialis has more than 30 years of broad-based experience as an executive running large, multimedia information/publishing and professional service businesses. Before forming Mergent, Inc., and overseeing its purchase of the Financial Information Services division of Moody’s Investors Service, Mr. Andrialis was founding partner of Berwick Capital, a small private investment company established to acquire financial information businesses. Earlier, he served as President and CEO of Warren, Gorham and Lamont, a subsidiary of Thomson Corp. Previously, at the Standard & Poor’s Corporation, he was the Executive Managing Director, U.S. Ratings Operations; Executive Vice President, Retail and Individual Investor Services; and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Andrialis led the migration of S&P from a print-dominated business to a provider of both electronic and print services, including the Marketscope product, an online/real-time information service for retail brokers and individual investors. He received his BA from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from the University of Richmond.
Timothy Roche – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Roche serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Mergent, Inc. As CFO, he is responsible for the overall financial management and stability of the company. In addition, Mr. Roche is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Mergent’s technology strategies. At Mergent, he was a key individual to the successful purchase and integration of the Financial Information Services division of Moody’s Investor Service. Before joining Mergent, Mr. Roche was Vice President of Administration at the Industrial Bank of Japan, Ltd. (IBJ), one of the ten largest banks in the world at the time. He established the technology group at its Chicago Branch and focused on introducing new technologies to IBJ globally. Before IBJ, Mr. Roche was a Senior Financial Analyst at The Balcor Company, a real estate syndication firm. He earned his MBA in finance / international business from DePaul University and his BBA in finance at the University of Iowa.
Paul Starkey – Managing Director
Mr. Starkey joined Mergent Inc. in January 2003 as Managing Director (Europe), where he had the responsibility of growing market awareness of Mergent Inc. in Europe and also managing the UK product development team. Since March 2005 Mr. Starkey has relocated to the USA Charlotte Head Office to assume a new position within Mergent Inc. as Director, Global Product Strategy where he has the responsibility to ensure that all products observe the overall Mergent and Xinhua Finance global strategy. Before joining Mergent Inc. Mr. Starkey was Commercial Director of Synergy Software Solutions Ltd, a UK based financial analysis solution provider. Mr. Starkey has also held senior positions within corporate finance and stock broking institutions based in London UK and has numerous associated qualifications. Mr. Starkey is also a member of industry related associations as follows: XBRL International, Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) and Institute of Directors (IoD).Top
Fred Jenkins – Executive Vice President, Sales
Mr. Jenkins is the National Sales Manager overseeing the worldwide sales group. He began his career in the information industry in 1973 with Dun & Bradstreet. Mr. Jenkins progressed through several management positions before joining Moody’s in 1987, where he became a vice president in 1997. He received his undergraduate degree from California State University at Fullerton and his MBA from California State University at San Bernardino.Top
Kimberly Pyle – Executive Managing Director, HR & Administration
Ms. Pyle is responsible for managing all of the Human Resource and Administration functions for Mergent Inc. She began working at Moody’s in 1992 playing a key role in opening the Charlotte North Carolina office. Prior to joining Moodys/Mergent she worked at Sprint where she was instrumental in opening a large telecommunications center and at First Florida Bank as a Human Resources Manager. She received her M.Ed in Personnel and Training and Development from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from Elon College.
John Pedernales – Executive Managing Director, Equity Research
Mr. Pedernales serves as the managing director of equity research, which is responsible for developing global equity research products and services. In addition, he has lead a number of development projects that have further enhanced Mergent’s company fundamental database and collection efforts. Mr. Pedernales has progressed through several management positions and has contributed greatly to the expansion of Mergent’s global presence in the financial market place. This has been accomplished by opening offices for collection and analysis globally. He currently sits on the board of directors for Mergent Japan K.K. Mr. Pedernales received a dual Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.Top
Karen Peterson – Managing Director, Global Fixed Income
Ms. Peterson is responsible for the overall collection of fixed income data at Mergent. Ms. Peterson has managed the transition of Mergent’s fixed income products and data collection from being centered on the reference market to real-time data delivery into the institutional markets. She has over 12 years of experience in the financial information industry. Prior to her current role, she was the Director of Securities Data at Mergent. She earned her BSBA in Management and Finance and her MBA from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
Chris Henry – Managing Director, Corporate Actions
Mr. Henry is responsible for Mergent's global corporate actions, dividend and end-of-day pricing data. His market data career began in 1993 with Moody’s Investors Service, where he managed the North American Equity & Fixed Income corporate actions division. In 1999, Mr. Henry advanced and managed the Quality Assurance division for both dividends and corporate actions data. Mr Henry holds a BA in Marketing from Winthrop University.
Tom Wecera – Managing Director, Print Products
Mr. Wecera is responsible for the production of Mergent’s print products. He started his career with Moody’s Investors Service in 1977. In 1983 he began working on the Moody’s financial database and in 1986 worked on bringing the print production composition in-house. In 1992, Mr. Wecera took over all print production responsibilities for Mergent. He also has the responsibility for the print contracts. Mr. Wecera graduated from City University of New York, where he majored in finance.
Timothy R. Alward, CFA – President and CEO, Ford Equity Research
Mr. Alward has been involved in the financial markets for the past 26 years and has highly developed expertise in quantitative stock selection techniques. Since joining Ford Equity Research in 1994, Mr. Alward has been responsible for the successful development and implementation of many of Ford’s stock selection methods and decision-making tools. Prior to joining Ford Equity Research, Mr. Alward held positions as an analyst and portfolio manager with Argus Investment Management, where he developed value and earnings momentum disciplines to manage asset for institutions, private clients and domestic hedge funds.Top He is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Society of San Diego.
Richard Segarra, CFA – Chief Operating Officer, Ford Equity Research
Over his 20 year career in the equity investment field, Mr. Segarra has developed systematic investment techniques that incorporate his broad experience with investment disciplines including fundamental, technical and quantitative analyses. Since joining Ford Equity Research in 1995, Mr. Segarra has been responsible for the database, model development, and all published research. Prior to joining Ford, he worked for William O’Neil & Associates as an analyst/portfolio manager. Mr. Segarra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Chapman University. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society of San Diego.
Jeff Zazzaro - Managing Director, Development
Mr. Zazzaro is responsible for Mergent's overall software development strategy and its alignment with business goals, as well as managing Mergent's development groups. He began is career in the financial information industry in 1994 with Moody's Investor Service and has over 10 years of management experience encompassing both business and IT roles. He earned a BS from the University of South Carolina.
Mike Winn - Managing Director, Development
Mr. Winn is responsible for Mergent's overall hardware and communications services, coordinating and monitoring Mergent’s production systems, as well as managing Mergent's operations and end user support groups. He began his career in the USAF before moving to information technology more than 25 years ago and has over 15 years of management experience encompassing various IT roles. He earned a BS in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina.
